The Unit Manager Strategy and Risk is responsible for the Strategic and Risk Function and has 2 direct reports. You will lead, plan and manage the Council’s Strategic Management Framework, Risk Management Framework and Grant Management Program. The primary objective is to manage and improve the strategic planning and risk processes to deliver the best service in response to local needs.
You will be accountable for the 4 Year Plan, the Annual Business Plan, the Business Continuity Plan, Community Emergency Plan and Recovery Plan. You will also develop, maintain and monitor Council’s Internal audit plan and manage the insurance portfolio.
This is a pivotal role within Council and we need a collaborative leader who empowers others to find solutions and pathways to achieve Council’s strategic goals. A change agent with proven ability to lead change to business operations you will also possess high political acumen. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written are a must.
Your experience should be supported by tertiary qualifications in Business, Corporate Governance or a related field with certificates in risk management and/or internal audit being highly regarded. The role is Level 8 $115,412 + super.
