As Unit Manager Sport and Recreational Community Facilities you will be responsible for the strategic leadership of City of Marion’s sporting and recreation facilities through proactively working with sporting and community organisations.
Taking a strategic view you will review the existing community, sport and recreation facilities and services as well as identifying the asset needs of the sporting and community organisations and the community to deliver Council’s goals and objectives.
You will lead a team that works closely with internal and external stakeholders to support capacity building including identification of funding options and assist the groups to develop strategic plans/programs and sound governance practices to manage, promote and grow.

Systems and processes improvement will enable business as usual allowing time for you and your team to do things differently, to maximise the utilisation of the facilities within the Community. You will build strong business partnerships and are able to communicate at all levels sharing your vision, enabling you to influence and deliver.
Armed with your expertise and experience you and your team will make a difference to the City of Marion. Tertiary qualifications in the discipline of Business, Commerce and or Sport and Recreation Planning are highly desirable.
